About Troy






Troy is a life-long resident of Ocean Springs. After graduating with a degree in Political Science from the University of Mississippi, he was commissioned in the MS Army National Guard. During his year's deployment in Iraq, Troy served as Scout Platoon leader. Upon returning home he was promoted to Captain and took command of Delta Troop. Troy was awarded the Bronze star for his service in Iraq.

Upon returning home from Iraq, Troy continued to train service members in urban combat operations at Camp Shelby for the next several years. Troy started working at Chevron in 2008 until 2011. In 2012 Troy started his service on the Jackson County Board of Supervisors and served as president in 2014. Troy serves on the Board of Directors for CASA and the Board of Advisors for Tulane. Troy is also a member of the American Legion, VFW and the Knights of Columbus. Troy has also served as chairman of the Jackson County Republican Party and is a former Ocean Springs Alderman-At-Large.

Troy and his wife Lauren have been married for 15 years and attend St. Alphonsus Church with their 4 children Sophie (12), Joseph (11), Michael (4), and Luke (2).

Accomplishments:

When you elected me, I promised to do many things and I have delivered on those promises:
  • Improved our citizens’ quality of life which enhances growth and business development.
    • Built new sports fields in St. Martin and Gautier
    • Built new facilities in Latimer Park
    • Made improvements to the Inner Harbor, animal shelter, many boat launches and more
  • Repaired our roads and drainage using new funding sources; not taxpayer’s dollars
  • Created the economic development corridor on I-10 to increase jobs and grow the economy
    • This project is already fully funded
    • Work has begun on this major development
  • Passed historic economic development legislation for Jackson County
    • First county allowed to use this finance option to attract new economic development
    • This corridor will attract and keep major commercial developments
    • This will diversify our strong economy and create more jobs and future opportunity
  • Successfully funded improvements to Old Fort Bayou Road
  • Since being elected 8 years ago
    • High paying manufacturing jobs increased by 10%, that is one of the highest growth rates in America
    • Three out of four area manufacturing jobs are here in our county
    • These are great Manufacturing jobs with an Average Wage of $70,000
